- ๐ Location: Paris, France
- ๐
Start Date: between January - June 2027
- โณ Duration: 6 months (full-time)
- ๐ Level: Master 2 / Engineering School (Bac+5) โ Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields
๐ฏ Mission of the Internship
As a Molecular Biology intern, you will contribute to the design, construction, and evaluation of engineered microbial strains capable of producing pigments with industrial potential. You will work as part of an agile, multidisciplinary R&D team and participate in iterative cycles of design-build-test-learn (DBTL).
You will be involved in:
- Constructing and validating expression cassettes and biosynthetic pathways
- Testing strain variants for pigment production
- Integrating results with fermentation and analytics data to inform engineering strategies
๐งช Your Main Tasks
- ๐งฌ Molecular biology: cloning, plasmid assembly, transformation, genome editing
- ๐งซ Strain construction: selection, genotyping, pathway validation
- ๐ฑ Mini-scale culture assays to assess growth and pigment production
- ๐ Data analysis: interpretation of screening results and troubleshooting
- ๐ค Collaboration with fermentation and analytics teams to align strain performance with process needs
๐ What You'll Learn
- Application of synthetic biology to the biosynthesis of natural pigments
- Use of tools such as Benchling, Python, and version-controlled strain libraries
- Experimental design in high-throughput microbial engineering workflows
